[ET Net News Agency, 31 July 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$178.57 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.48 billion, or 13.71% of the market's turnover. There were 812 short-selling stocks. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.24 billion and HK$2.61 billion, or 13.25% and 10.67% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 23.21% and 36.05% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.28 billion and HK$1.09 billion of short sales, accounting for 5.23% and 4.44% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 25.17% and 11.7% of respective stock's turnover.
XL2CSOPHYNIX closed up HK$15.14, or 59.7%, to HK$40.5. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$2.14, or 6.89%, to HK$28.9. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.04, or 0.15% to HK$26.32. BABA-W jumped HK$6.4, or 5.72%, to HK$118.2.
