AI giants speak at the United Nations, warning of potential risks of artificial intelligence, urging government and industry collaboration in management

ET Intelligence Group reported on the 24th: On Wednesday (23rd), leading artificial intelligence (AI) companies called on governments worldwide to collaborate with the industry in managing the rapidly advancing AI technologies at the United Nations Security Council.

Anthropic's CEO Amodei stated that if improperly governed, AI could pose risks to all of humanity. There are already warnings that AI systems will soon achieve self-iteration, even脱离 human control.

OpenAI's CEO Altman advocated for international cooperation, arguing that the most important AI decisions cannot be made solely by laboratories; rules must be shaped through democratic processes and by governments accountable to the public.

Yoshua Bengio, co-chair of the United Nations' Independent International Scientific Panel and a Canadian scientist, told the Security Council: 'The danger is real and imminent. The Security Council is facing an unprecedented threat, one that no member state wishes to confront alone, no country can contain by itself, and AI is not bound by the national borders we defend.'
