[ET Net News Agency, 19 September 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$148.75 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$22.82 billion, or 15.34% of the
market's turnover. There were 654 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.73 billion and HK$1.51
billion, or 11.95% and 6.61% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 57.2% and 16.24% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.38 billion and HK$1.16 billion
of short sales, accounting for 6.03% and 5.08% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 16.53% and 11.63% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$1.42, or 2.22%, to HK$65.34. BABA-W ended up HK$2.85, or 3.44%,
to HK$85.7. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.37, or 2.02% to HK$18.72. TENCENT jumped HK$8.8, or
2.32%, to HK$388.8.
