[ET Net News Agency, 22 January 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$131.63 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.51 billion, or 14.06% of the
market's turnover. There were 747 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.89 billion and HK$1.46
billion, or 10.23% and 7.87% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 25.31% and 41.31% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.19 billion and HK$734.97 million
of short sales, accounting for 6.42% and 3.97% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 31.73% and 13.59% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.04, or 0.15%, to HK$26.76. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.36,
or 0.38%, to HK$93.16. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.02, or 0.36% to HK$5.6. BABA-W jumped
HK$0.7, or 0.43%, to HK$163.9.
