[ET Net News Agency, 9 March 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$219.34
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$39.85 billion, or 18.17% of the market's
turnover. There were 844 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.19 billion and HK$2.12
billion, or 13.02% and 5.33% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 36.26% and 37.62% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and PETROCHINA (00857) registered HK$1.8 billion and HK$1.4 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.53% and 3.51% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 19.47% and 42.73% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.6, or 2.31%, to HK$25.32. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.11,
or 2.27%, to HK$4.726. TENCENT fell HK$8.5, or 1.64% to HK$510.5. PETROCHINA jumped
HK$0.37, or 3.56%, to HK$10.77.
