[ET Net News Agency, 22 April 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$122.94 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.29 billion, or 14.88% of the market's turnover. There were 792 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.47 billion and HK$1.34 billion, or 8.02% and 7.33% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 38.82% and 22.21% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.13 billion and HK$746.87 million of short sales, accounting for 6.18% and 4.08% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 51.03% and 14.51% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$1.3, or 1.42%, to HK$90.14. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.34, or 1.27%, to HK$26.42. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.112, or 2.26% to HK$4.844. BABA-W declined by HK$4.6, or 3.37%, to HK$131.7.
